chain link - city style

So - is blogging kind of like riding a bike?
- because, I'm feeling like I've pretty much forgotten everything
- or maybe everything has changed
-or maybe...

Anyway - it's been a very long time since my last post -
in a nutshell:
Greg and I moved from our home near the city to a town up the coast a ways (aka Major Upheaval)
I was promoted at work (aka Death of Blog),
and our daughter got married in August (aka Summer of Laura)

But, hey - otherwise life is the same - and we're still heading to Away for the weekends
(well, sporadically...)
So now, I'm not really sure where to begin
- let's see - how about some urban chain link fences

Scenes from my weekday life -
(NO idea what that graffiti means - but I do applaud the colors on this dreary day)

Ah yes - the orange line - I could probably write a sonnet
How do I despise thee? Let me count the ways...

I actually took these photos a few months ago during a lunchtime walk
- and found them sitting on my computer

but I'm dusting off that big girl camera
- and getting back on that bike (so to speak)
- and probably needing to relearn lots and lots of things (my head hurts thinking about it...)
I'm happy to be back, though, and looking forward
to seeing everything that's going on with you!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. You have made chain link look beautiful!! I have a love/hate relationship with graffiti, when it's done right, it can really brighten an otherwise dull area!!

I don't think there are any guidelines for blogging. I have always enjoyed reading everything you share.....and boy have you been busy!! It is nice to see you today!!

  2. you were missed so welcome back Karen. Yes you will get into blogging and photograph easily again

  3. Like your chain link fences. It is cute. We have too in our village.

  4. Nice to see you back. The chain link fence is just is just a simple mundane thing to photography... but choosing an interesting background you brought the fence to life. Well done.

  5. thrilled that you chose good fences to join in on your first post back! and so good to hear you're okay and just working and living like the busy woman you are! :) congrats on your daughter's wedding and promotion and (ick!) move! :)

  6. Hi Karen! Glad to 'meet' you through your blog and your comments on my post today for Good Fences!
Hoping to get to know you better and you're most welcome to come by for a visit anytime!

  7. Hello Karen!:) I found your blog through Good Fences, and hope to see more of you in future posts. Nothing wrong with chain mail, if it's photographed right like these three neat examples.:)

  8. Your chain link fence views are great - very different, and I like that. You sure have been busy. Congratulations on your daughter's wedding and your job promotion. A move is stressful, but I hope that you love where you live now.

  9. Good to have you back and I am really surprise by your post after long time. Glad to know things happening in your life as favor and my well wishes to the newly married. Pretty neat composition on fence and views behind! Hope you continue blogging :)

  10. Great idea....the pictures behind the fence!!

  11. Those are some major life changes you've been through! I like the city shots behind the chain link.

  12. So nice to see that you are back! Congratulations on your promotion, to your daughter, and for surviving the move! Fun to see what lies beyond the fencing! Hope to see you again :) x Karen

  14. Hello, welcome back. Congrats to your daughter on her marriage and to you for your promotion. Sounds like you have had a busy summer. Happy Friday, have a happy weekend!

  15. I am SO happy that you are back, and you have not lost your photography or blogging touch. Excellent photos. I can see where last year was too much change to keep everything going. I can't wait for more...

  16. Wow, what big changes in your life. Adjusting is hard but glad to have you back.

  17. Great to see you "on the blog bus!"
Life changes do have an affect on us . . .
Love your graffiti fed chain fence pics . . .
    All the best . . .

  18. You certainly have had a number of big life changes which have demanded all your time and energy. Maybe blogging has a place in your weeks once more.

  19. Sounds like your life has been pretty full. I can so relate. You found some good fence scenes.

  20. Yay - I've missed you. You actually hadn't posted for so long, I took you off my dashboard. You are now reinstated. Congratulations to Laura!

  21. It is wonderful to see you blogging again! Congrats on your daughter's wedding and your job promotion. We just moved in July, so I can sympathize with you on that one! lol
I look forward to visiting with you. Have a great day.

  22. Just re-discovered your blog, Karen, and glad to have done so, welcome back to blog-land. Life does intervene in many ways and you have certainly had a lot going on. Congrats on the family wedding and the promotion and bet you are glad the move is done. After 2 years of relocatiing to NH we still find things to move from VA...sadly our home there is "still available."

I am always happy to hear from you -
Your comments make me smile!
