rural country markets

In rural towns and villages all through Vermont
the country store still serves an important purpose in the community.
These little markets carry just about everything you can think of -
and do it with charm.

After stocking up on weekend necessities
steak tips and wine and cheese and ice cream - yes - necessities
these pretty crimson flower boxes caught my eye -
all decked out to welcome Spring.

Have a colorful day!

  1. From the outside it looks like a very well kept store. I like the wooden floors that most of these old stores have. It's had to walk around without the floors creaking.

  13. Indeed. Unfortunately we have very few of their like left here in rural southeaster MN. The big city malls now rule our world....:(

  17. Great that the country store is still alive. It's gone in western Canada. either we drive great distances of we have something similar to Seven - eleven. The population is so sparse here the country store cannot survive.
