cruising around cape ann

Alas, no Vermont this weekend.
Well, of course there's still a Vermont - just not for me.
Anyway...
I'm taking advantage of a rare weekend at home to organize, organize, organize
- or - that is, I'm making the attempt.
Yeah, we'll see how it goes.

I would like to share a few (of my newly organized) photos from our boat outing a couple of weeks ago.

This is Motif No.1 in Rockport, Massachusetts.
I had never seen it from this side before.

I loved watching the kayakers - they looked so very small in the so very large ocean.

Seagulls, just hanging out on the rocky ledge
surrounded by the blue, blue sea and the blue, blue sky.

I'm hoping to be back in Vermont in another week or two. Leaf peeping season is on its way!
Wishing you all a wonderful week.

I am joining Nancy at A Rural Journal
and
Carol at A Creative Harbor for

Thanks for dropping in!

  2. Such pretty photos! Here in Georgia, we've had light rain and cooler breezes today. I'm definitely ready for Fall! Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

  4. Beautiful photos. I like the colorful boats on the water in the first shot. I agree with you, the kayakers look so small in the vastness of the ocean. The water is a very beautiful blue.
    Happy Sunday!

  5. Such beautiful photos! I spent a few weeks traveling through New England last year and I fell in love with all the states and places I visited.

  8. I am always mesmerized by ocean kayakers too. And for the exact same reason...a small oasis of calm set within the huge ocean. Something about the polar opposites of the two intrigues me. Lovely captures.

  10. Love the blue and yellow pops of color on the water -- would love to see it in person. :)

  11. Love watching the sea kayakers head out into the ocean. That seawall doesn't look anywhere high enough to do much good in a good nor'easter!

  12. Karen, I don't know about you, but I get rather antsy to visit my out of town place! Love your picture of the boats. Really striking. We actually had a cool front come through this weekend! Yeah, Fall is on the way! Wish I were up in Vermont to see the leaves!
