It was a quiet weekend at Away -
and that was okay with me.
I managed to get out with my camera
This barn sits way up high - do you see the ski slopes off to the right?
It was a beautiful morning up on the mountain.
The cold nights and warm, sunny days have been perfect for maple sap.
Weather permitting, next week I think I'll scout for sugar shacks.
I probably should have mentioned in my last post that the photo of the bright yellow flower was from last summer - (my bad)
As you can see - we're only dreaming about flowers up here in this little corner of the world...
Have a great week!
sure is pretty, but wintry! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous winter shots; I'd love to see the gathering of winter sap in person....Do you and your hubby ski? It certainly is a beautiful area....
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice looking barn so high up in the mountains.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, peaceful photos of the snow and the mountains, Karen! A lovely view from the barn, too! I really like the sap buckets on the trees.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your nice comments on my blog, Karen. Yes, I grew up just S. of Boston. We had a cabin in the White Mountains of N.H. I so miss New England. But my children were all born here in the Pacific Northwest, so here we stay. You live in a lovely place! xx
The anonymous comments are spam, I'll bet. I'd delete those real quick, if I were you. I have been getting TONS of spam lately. I don't know why blogger isn't getting it seperated the way they used to, but there has been a slew slipping through into regular comments.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty pictures...and thanks for pointing out the ski slopes! I would never have noticed them!
Yes, definitely spam. Blogger seems to be doing a terrible job lately.
DeleteIt looks so pretty there even if it is cold. Beautiful setting for the barn!
ReplyDeleteYum! Maple Syrup. Love the morning light on the barn.

ReplyDeleteI recommend going to your Blogger options and disallowing anonymous comments - it completely solved my spam problem!
ReplyDeleteMorning light is beautiful, but on a barn in the snow - fantastic.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really pretty there! I love the photo with all the maple trees with the sap buckets. Sounds like the weather is getting just right for tapping in your neck of the woods :)
