5 thoughts on my first blogiversary

1) My one-year blogiversary is sometime this week - I'm not sure which day - exact dates have never been super important to me.
Soooo - maybe I should say that I think my blogiversary is this week...

2) To coincide with my blogiversary, I seem to be in a bit of a blogging slump. I'm not sure why, but I am certain it's temporary (I'll blame it on March).

3) Spring is around the corner (well, here in New England it might be down the street aways and then around the corner - we just have to get through March...... and April...) - but - I'm starting to feel a little excited about the colors of Spring.

4) Ice cream is my most favorite food in all the world - I have no problem convincing myself that it's good for me - you know, dairy product and all.

5) I started a new daily routine last week that includes more exercise and housework. Now, how long is it supposed to take for new habits to form? 12 weeks? Hmmmmm, we'll see.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Happy Blogiversary, Karen!
I hope spring is around the corner for us too, but we need moisture. It's going to take a heavy wet snow storm or lots of rain. Both sound like a lot of extra work while calving.

I am an icecream eater also. Since last August I have been making my own. My Mom and I love this recipe. Our Husbands ... not big fans. http://theranchwifechronicles.com/cake-and-ice-cream/.

    Have a great weekend!

  5. Happy Blogiversary, Karen! Spring is down the street and around the corner here too. Much of Minnesota is getting snow today. I think most of it will miss us. We did have 40 degrees yesterday and some of the snow melted. But Spring is coming!

  6. Happy blogiversary! I'm looking for spring, too--the temperatures are still kind of erratic here in Virginia, but we've had lots of warm days. And we have daffodils! :-)

  8. Karen, it's difficult to keep motivated during the winter blogwise... when all the flowers start blooming, that's the time I get re-energized.

I'm with you on the ice cream!

Thanks for joining up today and happy blogiversary. Many more to you! xo

  12. It is definitely the weather zapping the creative energy. We in Michigan are in the same boat, it will be awhile yet before Spring fully arrives. Great for you about the exercise, good luck with the housework :)

I love ice-cream, too, but I don't allow myself any very often. I bought some for my birthday meal this weekend! :)
I hope you do make it a new habit, it would make you happy, I'm sure.
    Hugs, Cindy

  15. No! lol. Not TWELVE weeks for a new habit to form! I thought it was two! Gack. There's no hope for me! And that's a lovely springy yellow flower you have there. Yeah, spring comes slow to New England, but all the more glorious when it arrives. :D

  24. Happy blog...something or other. Great that you've been around for a year. It is okay to take a breather on your blog. Far too many bloggers have a great start and a promising blog only ti flame out. Carry on.

  25. I really don't think that flower is going to be there for another few months :-)

  26. Happy Blogoversary. House Cleaning has become less and less import as I near retirement:)

  27. I love your flower garden pic! And ice cream is one of the major food groups. Add some peanut butter to it and you have your protein. Reeses Peanut Butter ice cream is really a meal in a bowl. Especially if it's one of those waffle cone bowls....there's your starch. Who needs veggies? Not I!

  28. I can see we have life's important things in common; ice cream is a separate and crucial food group as far as I'm concerned. :)

  33. I am trying to be better at exercising at house work too! I know we will be happier if we can stick to it. Maybe the nicer weather will keep us motivated. :) Happy blogiversary!

  34. Of course, ice cream is a food group as long as we convince ourselves about all that dairy stuff. Congrats on the blog milestone and taking a break IS allowed cause life is like that. I heard the rumor that spring is coming but delayed a bit because the groundhog was a bit off this year.Getting more exercise is a good idea...more housework not so much.

  35. 12 weeks? 12 weeks? Heck. I thought it was only 2 weeks. Well, what's the use in starting a new habit, then? ;)

Ice cream has always been in the dairy food group, despite the higher content of sugar than milk :)

    Housework? Gah.
