In spite of a not-so-great weather forecast, Greg and I ventured out on our bikes last week.
More on that once I sort through all my photos.
More on that once I sort through all my photos.
I have lots and lots...
Cycling through the Vermont countryside never disappoints -
so many things to snap photos of.
so many things to snap photos of.
This was one of my favorite barns - in Cavendish, Vermont
The first half of our ride went something like this:
Greg: We really can't be stopping every 50 yards
Me: I know...
sigh
silence
Me: But it really just needs to be done...
As an added bonus, a sweet black lab came to greet us as I took these photos.
Her name was Lucy.

Where are the pictures of Lucy? Aside from Dave and his other brother Dave, she was one of the highlights of the ride!!
ReplyDeleteYes she was! I'll include her when I sort through all those pictures that you so patiently stopped for...
DeleteWell, I think it's GREAT that you stopped to take these shots. Vermont is truly a beautiful state.
ReplyDeletethat's a nice place, alright! i like the creosote stained (?) / black painted wood! makes for some great fading and wear!
ReplyDeleteOh Vermont, I can just imagine the beauty. What a great looking barn!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice place! Can't wait to see the photos of the dog!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful barn! So different from what we have in Minnesota. I would love to visit VT.
ReplyDeleteIf I breathe in really deep, Maybe I can sense that wonderful New England air.
ReplyDeleteI like the boards on this barn. The color contrast from top to bottom is interesting. Looks like a cute little place.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great old barn! I love the color - and that tractor peeking out is perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the wood on this barn..beautiful! I can't read the captcha thing...drats!~
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots! I like the dark color and the tractor in the last photo is a nice bonus!
ReplyDeleteOh, I so love these...love the little rock wall!
ReplyDeleteLove the dark wood and the way it has weathered!
ReplyDeleteThe tractor looks personified peeking out the door. (I may have watched too many cartoons lately) :)
Like Brian mentioned, the tractor is awesome! I'm stuck on the colour. I wonder if they just used linseed oil on the barnboard or even added some colour to the oil. Then again, I could be totally wrong.
ReplyDeleteNice find and thanks for sharing it on Barn Charm.
This type of weathered wood is fairly common in New England. I'm not sure whether it's treated or not - but the contrast is interesting to look at.
DeleteGreat looking barn! Nice stack of firewood, too!
ReplyDeleteYou gotta do what you gotta do. I'm glad you stopped for these shots!
ReplyDeleteSome don't understand the importance of catching the beauty all around them, but that's ok, he'll come around! heheheee
ReplyDeleteBeautiful barn & I love all that dark barn wood, it's gorgeous!
