barn charm - vermont weathered toppling barn

We stayed home this weekend to attend my niece's graduation party.
She's the baby in our family - sigh...

I also managed to spend a little time sorting through old photos - organizing -
and was pretty excited to run across this photo from last summer.
Weathered and toppling - but it looks as though it's still in use.

So this summer has been flying by, and my blogging has been rather sporadic.
Some days I'll think that I'm back on track and then the next day -
well, not so much...

How about you - do you find that summer has been messing with your routines?

  5. Even though it's leaning it's a great old barn.
I have so many things I want to get done this summer that I can't seem to keep any routine.

  6. Summer totally messes with my routines! Since my husband is off work for the summer (he's a teacher) it kind of makes me feel a little bit lazy and not wanting to go to work if he's not haha. I do kind of look forward to fall each year when everything gets back in order. I'm sure he doesn't, though!

  7. This barn is not heavy. It needs a brother to lean on.

  9. Hi Karen Love the barn even though it is listing! I have more time in the summer as I have a lot of things on throughout the rest of the year.

  11. Great barn, leaning or not! I'm glad it's still being used. I wonder why so many barns start to lean?

Summer has gone by fast. Things get slow at the paper during the summer, but now that school is getting back into session, meetings start up again, the elections this fall are coming--things will get busy again.

  12. I hope it's fate is not the same as one I have been watching the last year....It was leaning, leaning and last week when I went by it had collapsed.....poor barn....

My life seems to be off schedule...hahaha some weeks I get lots done and then others I don't....I guess it's this season of life.....

  16. I used to ask the Rancher "What are you doing today?" He said "I don't know, tell me what problems or issues I will face when I step outside." Now I ask what intentions he has for the day.

I am a planner and like a routine. Being at home, on the ranch, full time has made me adapt my comfort zone of always having a plan. Most days I do pretty good being flexible.

When I quit the town job I cut my blogging back to 2 days a week and Weekly Top Shot with a quote. It seems to be working for me.

  20. There is a little lean in this one...LOL Like it has been leaning against a strong wind some time in the past!

  21. Summer doesn't really mess with my schedule any more than any other season because retirement means that every day is vacation for us. Sure, we have things we do around the house and yard and our separate volunteer projects but if something doesn't get done one day, then there's the next day. And, yes that was a great slanted barn too.

  22. It doesn't take much to mess with my routine...I don't have one. I say to people look after your life first and then check the blog. In other words, don't let the blog take over your life.

  25. So pretty. I hear my grandma saying "Someone needs to fix that barn up." She says that all the time.

  26. That lean gives it a special charm, I think.

  27. Having a hard time finding the flow after coming back from vacation. Once Mallory is back in school I think things will get back to "normal". Love the barn!

  29. great shot of that old barn...wonder if this summer it is still there?? Yes, this summer has definitely been far busier than I ever suspected, so blogging has been on the back burner some days.

  30. Summer totally has been messing me up, I'll do a post and then sit down later to visit other blogs then something pulls me away...grrr..I feel so out of sorts since my parents moved in. Hopefully I'll get a routine going...I hope ;)

  31. Beautiful photo from the old barn!

  32. Hope that barn doesn't fall in on the person storing their equipment inside. That would be awful.

Summer doesn't mess up my routines....routines mess up my routines. :) It's a crazy world we live in!
