scene and story - june

This wasn't exactly what I was going for
- but, then...

this was my June
- blurry, but pretty and colorful all the same
My month started out with crazy, busy work deadlines,
the birth of our first granddaughter
- yeah, she's pretty much the sweetest baby ever -
(I may be a teensy bit biased)
- and ended with a much needed week off -
and a celebration for Greg's career transition -
many changes ahead...

On this particular day, Greg and I hiked to Stratton Pond in Vermont
It was the perfect day to roam around the woods,
picnic by the pond, at catch a much needed breath.
With any luck, July will be a bit more focused
- and while June passed by in a blur, it was a pretty wonderful month

I'm joining Sarah and Leon for Scene and story

Have a wonderful, safe, 4th of July!

  1. a blur perhaps...but one of the greatest blur's of your life!! you have great things coming, changes...that is always fun!! i LOVE the image, it was PERFECT for your story!!!!

  2. Best wishes to Greg as he begins this new adventure. I hope July is everything you hope for.Plus you can get that dog now :)

    1. haha - yes, he spent a couple hours filling out the rescue application.

  3. What a busy month of June, but the highlight sounds like the birth of your first granddaughter! Your Vermont outing sounded just lovely!

  4. Sometimes life does go by in what seems like a blur, Karen, but from what you wrote in this post it's all good and exciting as well. Enjoy the holiday with your family and especially the newest member.

  5. Sounds like lots of exciting things going on in your life. Career changes are so invigorating midlife and how wonderful to have that precious new grandchild!! CONGRATULATIONS !! Enjoy your summer Karen

  6. It’s really good to have a nice picture of life despite little bit of blur... have a wonderful month ahead and hope it was favourable as well

  7. Congratulations on the new grandbaby! Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer at a little slower pace!

  8. I love your blurry buttercups? & lake view!
Hope your July is going swimmingly & you get to spend lots of time cuddling your new grand daughter!

  9. Grandmothers are supposed to be biased - I'm pretty sure it's in the job description. June did pass in a blur, didn't it? But your photo beautifully captures the "big picture" of a gorgeous summer day.

  10. What a peaceful scene you captured. Congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter.

  11. Congratulations on your new granddaughter!!!
What an exciting time for all.
Also, the best to Greg on his new journey.
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  12. Congratulations indeed. We added twin grandbabies recently. Your lake scene is so remindful of our go to retreat place in Northern Minnesota. Life is good...:)

  13. Looks like a perfect place to enjoy some needed R&R. Grandbabies are truly the best things in life - enjoy every precious moment. xx K

  14. I'm really late this time... sorry. Although blurry this is a beautiful atmospheric image. Some months are just like that. Congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter, I'm sure you are enjoying her!
