away for the weekend: farm fascination

farm fascination

I am fascinated with farms – I've probably mentioned this before. Farms, farmhouses, farm life, farm animals.

Maybe the feeling is mutual...

Okay – maybe not.

Later, we had the pleasure of visiting Taylor Farm in Londonderry, Vermont. Word in the village is that they make an award winning gouda cheese.

We were warmly greeted by the welcoming committee

(don't you just love that blue chair!?)

After sampling (and purchasing) the maple smoked gouda - which is indeed outstanding! -
we took a few minutes to feed our hosts

(I'm thinking the propietors understand this whole farm fascination thing)

For suburbanites like us - this was a whole lot of fun!

I will be joining
Little Red House for Mosaic Monday
A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday

Thanks for dropping in!

  8. Yes I love the blue chair. My thoughts before I even read your words. I grew up around my grandparents farm and loved it. Of course that has been a long time ago. I think everyone should get to visit a working farm especially children. Great photos.

  10. Lots of fun here - those chickens are cute. Feeding them would be a hoot. I think I prefer the chickens to the cows. Less intimidating.

  13. I can relate to this post. When I visited Prince Edward Island I went to a little place in the countryside that was well know for its gouda; of course, I had to take a picture of the sheep in the pasture!
