complete randomness

It's Friday -
and that means it's time for a little randomness with Nancy at A Rural Journal

My little suburb is just a few miles outside Boston and until a couple of weeks ago this electrical box was sporting gang symbols. I'm liking this look much better.
Pretty cute - yes?

This week Greg and I celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary
:-)

I just finished The Paris Wife and enjoyed it much more than I expected to.

Last weekend we bought freshly picked apples from the orchard. If I enjoyed baking, I'd make some apple pie, apple crisp, apple cake...
But - I don't - so I just pin the recipes instead.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend in Vermont. Saturday is the dam release for whitewater rafters (I'll be watching - not participating) -
and the annual Peru Fair where I'm hoping to pick up some beeswax candles.

That's it for me - have a great weekend!

  1. I really like it when these utility boxes get a facelifting with murals painted on them. It's a big improvement to the city.

  5. I live very close to Boston as well. We're on the North Shore. And, I love Vermont. We have a big family vacation on Lake Willoughby every summer. That is about 1/2 hour north of St. Johnsbury and about a 1/2 hour south of Cananada

  10. Congrats on 32years together! I would love to have an apple orchard to pick fresh apples from. I do love cooking, and with the apple peeler machine I have, it isn't such an issue to bake pies etc.

  11. Congratulation on 32 years. I am with you on the apples. They are so pretty but I don't especially like to eat them or cook them. Have a great weekend.

  14. Happy anniversary! I wish I liked to bake, too. Cooking intimidates me, unfortunately. :-) Your weekend plans sound fun.

  18. That is definitely an improvement over gang symbols! I used to like to bake, but don't do much baking any more. I bet I am lucky if I make more than two or three pies per year.

  21. Karen,
    Happy Anniversary!

I think plain ole apple slices are the best way to eat an apple. I am not much of a pie eater, but my Mom made an apple pie when I was home visiting that was awesome.

Have fun in Vermont this weekend. Maybe you will find some apple baked goods at the Fair.

  22. The utility box looks much better painted like this than graffiti. I'm not into baking anymore either so I eat the apples raw or occasionally bake one in the microwave. It's quick and easy. Just core it, put a tablespoon of brown sugar in the hole, add a bit of butter, put in a microwave safe dish with a little water, cover and cook for 4 minutes. That's it.
Happy Anniversary and enjoy your weekend in Vermont!
