Saturday afternoon, after a little apple picking and not quite ready to
call it a day, we headed over to nearby Bellows Falls, Vermont.
It's been years since I last visited this little town.
As we wandered through town, Simon and Garfunkel ran through my mind.
"I'm sittin' in the railway station
Got a ticket for my destination
hmmmmm
...And each town looks the same to me,
the movies and the factories
And every stranger's face I see,
reminds me that I long to be
Homeward bound..."
When Greg and I were in college, we used to drive up here to have breakfast at the
Miss Bellows Falls diner (although it was probably more like brunch
or rather - breakfast-for-lunch).
or rather - breakfast-for-lunch).
We had a great time last weekend meandering through town - poking in and out of shops.
And many thanks to nearby-apartment-daughter for unwittingly posing for the shot
that had me humming for the rest of the afternoon.
Such glorious color! I love it!

ReplyDeleteWith a family history in Bellows Falls that dates back to 1752, I love it when people like our little village. This is one of the best photos of the town hall clock tower I've seen. Can I get permission to re-use? Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much - that is quite a compliment! Yes, feel free to re-use. The image has been sized down for the web, so probably wouldn't print well but should be okay for use on a computer.
Deletethat first pic was excellently captured...
