A couple of summers ago, Greg and I rode our bike through this little village,
and I vowed to come back someday with my big girl camera.
Yeah, it took me a while - but better late than never.
The sun was low in the sky - and I loved the way it created this red reflection in the water.
Walking back through the bridge, you can see the former home of Norman Rockwell.
Now it's a bed and breakfast.
Now it's a bed and breakfast.
So it would seem that the holiday season is upon us -
and I'm still binging on excessive amounts of Halloween candy
- yeah - bought way too much of that stuff -
Not to worry, though, I've just about polished off the last of it.
(Whew - just in time for turkey and pie...)
Anyway, you may have noticed that I'm having a tough time keeping up,
so I think I will be taking a bloggy break.
I'm wishing you all a very happy holiday season
and look forward to seeing you again in the new year!

ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, what a cool little place that is! what a lucky person to own norman rockwell's home!...sometimes when it comes to eating a junk, i think it's best to eat it all in one setting to get rid of it rather than stretch it out ha! happy holidays to you!

How beautiful - love the covered bridge and that beautiful farm. I just found a book about Norman Rockwell's life and home.We went to an art exhibit at the Tacoma Art Museum featuring his paintings in 2011. So exciting to see your photo! Enjoy your break and Happy Holidays to you! Hugs xo Karen

Hi Karen! I've been taking a break, too. There's just so much to do this time of year. These photos are so picture postcard perfect. For this western girl, you capture what I love about the east perfectly. I've added the shot looking back through the covered bridge to my favorites. It just makes me sigh, it's so perfect. Ah! Such a beautiful countryside. Mrs. T and I have don't the "leaf peeper" thing in Vermont several times. It's actually very similar to here in Bluff Country though the mountain are higher than our hills....:)

Hi Karen, I see you're still on your blog break. I could swear I commented on this post, but guess not because it's not there! I know this place, and it hasn't changed much in 30 years! I like the red covered bridge. It's so gusty in Breckenridge today that we can't ski (or even go into the forest for fear of falling trees). We got another foot of snow overnight. Has VT been getting snow? Hope you're well and having some fun.
