Happy Friday!
So - I stayed up too late last night reading Help for the Haunted.
You know how it is when you get to a point in a book where you know there's too much left to finish at a reasonable time, but you can't put it down?
Yeah - I knew I was setting myself up for one of those bleary-eyed days...
Anyway - rushing out my door at the last possible moment and feeling dazed,
as I'm walking to my bus, I'm pondering whether I have anything on my Kindle to read on the subway.
Probably, I'm thinking, as I realize I'm not wearing my glasses.
Yep, it's going to be one of those days...
Still rushing to make my bus, I look down at my black pants, black shoes, black sweater and -
wait, am I wearing navy socks? Bleary-eyed and all, yep, they're navy.
Ugh - it's going to be one of those days...
Soooo, sitting on the subway - feeling bored - and contemplating my navy socks, as well as the footwear of everyone else on the subway - I'm thinking that I'm kind of glad that winter is coming. I am tired of looking at flip flops.
(I know, I really should have something to read while I'm on the subway...)
Bored with the whole footwear thing - I jumped off the subway a couple of stops early, picked up an iced coffee and enjoyed walking the rest of the way to work through the park.
I've decided it's going to be one of those days.
:-)

Have a great weekend!
A very good plan jumping off and walking through the park I am sure that would make you forget all those little details. What is that saying? Don't sweat the small stuff. Navy and Black looks the same to me most days:) Hope the rest of your day went well. B

ReplyDeleteSorry!
ReplyDeleteNice photo, and have a good weekend!
RW & SK
WE cannot be perfect all the time. We have to live with some of these boo boos.
ReplyDeleteYou are tired of flip flops and I am tired of wearing shorts and seeing too short shorts! Give me some jeans and a fleece and some smart wool socks and my Paisleys of course. Hope your day improves!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!! Happy week end...
ReplyDeleteyou made me smile. :)
ReplyDeletei think navy & black go well together. you rock it girl!! my hubby has a similar issue with his pants/slacks (do people still say slacks? any who??!) i will have to check into that book. i love a good read. have a nice weekend. ( :
ReplyDeletenavy socks too cute, oh my how I'd love an iced coffee, hope the day stayed a bit off the rails cuz neat stuff can come of days like this....:-)
ReplyDeleteThe walk through the park sounds like just the thing! I have had "one of those days" each day this week! lol
ReplyDeleteAww I love how this ended :) Iced coffee is my favorite drink in the world. So addicted :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty cool looking apartment building !
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Turning 'one of those days' around! Although I have to admit, I laughed at the whole saga. Yes, I've done that. Too good to put down, to much to finish my bedtime. Such a quandary.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I love that photo! I think I could live there, well part time any way. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your thoughts today and I too loved how it ended.
Have a really wonderful weekend!
Now you might have been having "one of those day" but I bet you were the cutest thing on that bus with your navy socks.....Reading into the night...right up my alley.....I love the photograph you shared;; so pretty...
ReplyDeleteCute post - I want to check out that book that kept you up so late - it must be a good one :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat post and photo.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you turned around your day. PS Once I got to work and discovered I was wearing my slippers. (In fairness to myself, they were rather elegant slippers!)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, what WAS the book?
ReplyDeleteAwe, I love this post and yes, I'm kind of getting tired of those flip flops too.
ReplyDeleteHi, Neighbour:) Wanted to stop by and say hi. found you through a rural journals random 5 blog hop. I hope your day was OK
ReplyDeleteWay to change things up Karen -- such a cute and creative post. xo
ReplyDeleteLooking back on your one those days... you should laughing by now. I am. I like your photo that shows the old and new building in the neighbourhood. Keep on smiling.
ReplyDeleteMany days are like that here, a bit disorganized, and I too am wanting cooler temps and no more sandals. But since we're living where the daily temps have been in the mid 80s still it will be awhile. Reading to finish a book in the wee hours is definitely something I do as well...Lisa Gardner's Live to Tell was my most recent read.
ReplyDeleteYay for walks in the park!!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! We all have them.. Hopefully far and few between. And you have reminded me that it's time to purchase some new socks.. lol!
ReplyDeletei wear flip flop 12 months a year AND i love them!!
ReplyDeletea walk in the park is good for the soul, especially if your having one of those days!!
Love that view of the city! We all have those days, don't we? But reading a good book makes it all worth it. Once I had identical shoes in black and navy. Well, you can guess what happened when I wasn't paying attention. I'm with you on the flip-flops. Feet are not particularly attractive to me. :) Hope your weekend was much better! xo
ReplyDeleteNavy socks with black shoes and pants aren't so bad. At least you didn't wear two totally different styles shoes like my daughter did one day! I'm sure the iced coffee and the walk through the park made everything better!
ReplyDeleteNavy socks with black pants is a lot better than......black pants with one black pump and one navy pump....yes, I did that one day when I rushed off to work when my kids were young....LOL (in fairness to me, they were identical shoe styles just 2 different colors).
ReplyDeletehave a good week Karen
Yes, I experienced similar when books read. Glad u took the walk enjoying iced coffee :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead
This really made me laugh! I definitely have some of those days... and think you handled it perfectly! Bet the leaves are really getting wonderful there right about now!
ReplyDeleteoh you always make me laugh! i'm going to have to google that book!
ReplyDeleteYup. I try to avoid those kind of days too. Being retired help though...:)
