barn charm - another londonderry barn

"Monday, Monday - can't trust that day"...
I was singing this in my head this morning as I sat in what was essentially a parking lot on my drive to work.
Monday can truly be a rude awakening, sometimes.
Anyway -
it was a beautiful Spring weekend in Vermont -
a little hiking, a couple stops at our fav coffee shop, grilled steak on the deck...

This barn - we can't quite figure out.
I think it's new - and there has also been quite a lot of beautiful work done on this property -
- but -
no signs of farming that I can see.

No animals,
no crops,
I don't think I've ever seen any people, either.
What do you think?

  9. Looks pretty enough to live in. But I have a secret and insane hankering to convert a barn or a grain elevator into a house...

  11. I don't know how you continually come up with these beautiful barns...Vermont's countryside must be full of them. I love the contrast of the red and green....

Let us know if you find out what it's going to be used for....

  16. Well, it's gorgeous... I would be curious too- unless they just spent all their money on the barn and now have to save to buy the cows! :)

  19. Maybe they'll come in later to do some farming. :) Maybe they just like farmland. :)

  20. I think your friends are on to something. The gas line and the electric meter on the barn are a clue that it's not likely to be agricultural. Summer stock theater maybe? Also the other new buildings on the property, like the sugar shack lead me to believe it's some kind of arts and agriculture campus. There is also that other new building thaty's been worked on that looks like some kind of a huge studio. We probably need to check it out again on our way to Grandma Miller's Pies.

If I could afford it I'd want to have one for looks. Maybe they'll use it for a business or studio.
Keep an eye on it for us. I, for one, would love to know what happens with it.
    Love that first shot!

  32. Looks too pretty to be used for livestock and also very new, so wondering if it is newly constructed or a great renovation.

  34. Oh, your weekend sounds lovely. The barn is lovely, too! I am guessing it is a getaway for a celebrity. Or someone very wealthy. Maybe they are fixing it up for wedding venues. Or a studio. Or to store their luxury motor home. You will have to do some sleuthing! xx
