views from cavendish

In spite of a not-so-great weather forecast, Greg and I ventured out on our bikes last week.
More on that once I sort through all my photos.
I have lots and lots...

Cycling through the Vermont countryside never disappoints -
so many things to snap photos of.
This was one of my favorite barns - in Cavendish, Vermont

The first half of our ride went something like this:
Greg: We really can't be stopping every 50 yards
Me: I know...
sigh
silence
Me: But it really just needs to be done...

As an added bonus, a sweet black lab came to greet us as I took these photos.
Her name was Lucy.

  1. Where are the pictures of Lucy? Aside from Dave and his other brother Dave, she was one of the highlights of the ride!!

  13. Love the dark wood and the way it has weathered!
The tractor looks personified peeking out the door. (I may have watched too many cartoons lately) :)

  14. Like Brian mentioned, the tractor is awesome! I'm stuck on the colour. I wonder if they just used linseed oil on the barnboard or even added some colour to the oil. Then again, I could be totally wrong.

Nice find and thanks for sharing it on Barn Charm.

    1. This type of weathered wood is fairly common in New England. I'm not sure whether it's treated or not - but the contrast is interesting to look at.
