ever elusive sunset

Here on the east coast - I often think of photographing the sunrise
- but rarely a sunset
Our view to the east is - well - prettier
- besides, I am normally busy at work when the sun sets

Just take the afternoon off - I thought
combine Christmas shopping with a sunset photoshoot - I thought
find an open area - I thought
two birds with one stone - I thought

Yeah, well, shopping was awesome
- sunset photoshoot - not so much
- too many buildings in the city - who knew?

The golden glow from the late afternoon sun was pretty, though

and making time to wander aimlessly,
is something I am so very thankful for during this busy time of year.
Sunset... to be continued...

I am joining Michelle for Thankful Thursday

This is likely my last post before Christmas
I wish you all a very happy, safe holiday - however you celebrate!

  3. The sun shining through the trees onto the skating rink is beautiful. The sun sets so early in the winter, it is hard to catch it for a photo. Merry Christmas!

  5. Well, I like that city photo! Certainly a different view than I have each day. We have to appreciate where we are at that moment. Thanks for linking up today and have a Merry Christmas!

  6. I love seeing the ice skaters, having been there in the summer when it was water. I am a sunrise person too, too tired at night.

  8. Merry after Christmas, Karen. I am just now starting to catch up on reading posts of fellow bloggers.
Thank you for comments on my recent blog posts. All were much appreciated.

I enjoyed these sunset shots and it's nice that you "treated" yourself to some time off and captured these images to share.

Enjoy your blog break and spending time with family and your granddaughter as these are such special times for everyone. Time spent with family and friends is the "best" gift of all and requires no purchase or gift wrapping. It's somewhat the pity that more folks don't get this.

Sending our best wishes to you and yours for a very wonderful and Happy New Year. See you in 2018 !
