A rare day off - no obligations,
and a much neglected camera
- beckoning me
My weather app said the rain had cleared
- the sky over Plum Island said otherwise
I probably don't need to tell you which was correct,
and which I ignored - necessitating a quick dash back to my car
(which on a sandy beach is neither quick, nor dash-like...)
and in the end,
it turned out to be a wonderful beach day.
I am thankful for this day with no plans
and the beauty that surrounds me.
I'm pretty sure I heard my camera whisper thank you, also.
Note to self - when in doubt, ignore weather app
and always pack a rain jacket...

Thanks for dropping in!
What a beautiful day! I am glad for you that the weather app was wrong because you would have missed all that beauty, and those clouds, if you thought it was going to rain. The rocks look like fun to climb on. My favorite picture is the lobster trap (?) with the thin band of blue water and sky to match the trap, with perfect focus. I am sure your camera did say thank you. :)
ReplyDeleteit really turned into a pretty day! i need a day like this too :) thanks for linking up and have a great rest of the week and weekend!!

ReplyDeletecameras are not to be neglected. I think there is a law.
ReplyDeletei love this story, it's "home" for me!! any day at the beach is better than a day at the office. and more glass on a rainy day!! did you look for glass??
ReplyDeleteHello, pretty images from the beach. Having no plans is great, free to do anything you please. Lovely photos. Enjoy your day and weekend ahead!

rain jacket and camera - Both would be happy if I gathered them up and explored - YOUR beach photos - sure are happy making. Thanks for sharing your day off with us.
ReplyDeleteI love your "when in doubt" advice. I always have a rain jacket in the car...along with my beachcombing bag. Wonderful photos, and a great day off!
ReplyDeleteIt has been 20 years since I visited a beach! Your photos are so pretty and bring back sweet memories.
ReplyDelete...and I thank you too!
ReplyDeleteI loved your day off! Walking in the rain is one of my favorite things to do ... a long it is a slow rain... I know ... Picky Picky! Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteI always loved a day off when I worked...loved these photos, too.
ReplyDeleteSolution for a possible rainy day outing is to carry a weatherproof camera. And that's why, a couple of years ago, I bought an Olympus Tough digital camera. Also, it's bright red which means I can always find it easily. These off-season beach photos were great and the absence of crowds was even better.
ReplyDeleteTime at the beach is my favorite way to spend a day off too! No matter what the weather! Love your self portrait too...and your cute outfit! Enjoy your afternoon! Hugs, Diane
