"When asked if my cup is half-full or half-empty
my only response is that I am thankful I have a cup"
Sam Lefkowitz
But this can be easy to forget in this harried, hurried, hectic world
- I get caught up in my daily hurdles and frustrations
- and as I enter a busy time of year in my little corner of academia
- with a frenzy of deadlines looming
this is me
hanging on - tenacious like little Nutkins
and while I generally think of myself as a cup half-full sort of gal
I often need to slow it down - reminding myself to just be thankful for that cup
- and I am -
I'm joining Michelle for Thankful Thursday
- So yeah, does anyone happen to know who Sam Lefkowitz is?

ReplyDeletethis one was determinedly trying to figure out how to get down to the bird feeder without falling
DeleteI've not heard of Sam Lefkowitz, but I do love that quote!
ReplyDeleteI love little Nutkins too. What a sweet little guy.
I hope that as you enter your busy time of year, that you will notice the little things that make your cup half full.
Happy day to you, Karen!

this little guy is finding himself in quite the quandary!!! my glass is half full and my glass is very beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI like to think I'm a glass half full sort of girl too. Love the squirrel.
ReplyDeleteSam K...sounds familiar but it may be because of this quote! We are retired and still seem to be on the run all the time! I need to be outside cutting some roses...right NOW! lol Enjoy your afternoon! Hugs, Diane

ReplyDeleteHello, I love the quote and the cute squirrel. I am thankful for my cup and coffee too. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat quote and great reminder of being thankful we have a cup....The squirrel photo is so funny I just couldn't help but laugh...I do seem to often catch myself in much the same spot......Remember to breathe and do a few special things for yourself during this busy time....
ReplyDeleteThe little guy has perfect balance. I am a half cup full gal. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who Sam Lefkowitz is, either, and this seems to be the only thing he's known for saying. (I googled him - what can I say, I'm a nerd with an inquiring mind.) I'm surprised the quote hasn't been re-attributed to someone more famous, like Mark Twain or maybe Oprah. :-) I love your little Nutkins!
ReplyDeleteI am a glass half-full kind of gal. I have the cup and a little wine :)
