After the hustle and bustle leading up to the holidays,
Greg and I were fortunate to enjoy a quiet week in Vermont
resting, relaxing, puttering, exploring,
turning off that 5 am alarm - yes!
:-)
I'm especially thankful that our girls were able to join us for a couple of days after Christmas
with busy lives of their own, these "everyday" moments are rare
- they just couldn't pass up a selfie with a snowy mountain background
(and I couldn't pass up sneaking a photo)

Chickadee and I shared a few peaceful moments watching the snowfall
and what would a week in Vermont be
without traipsing through the snow for yet another barn shot?
- splashes of color persevere in the winter scenery
So now it's back to my hectic workaday world
and that morning alarm
- yeah, that's okay... kind of...
but for this week away - I am thankful beyond words
I am joining Michelle for Thankful Thursday
I'm glad you like your snow.
ReplyDelete(I think I'll pack a lunch for the beach)
snicker snort
I'll be thinking of your beach as I ski down the mountain :-)

What a perfect way to spend a week, Karen.
ReplyDeleteVermont is truly so beautiful in the winter.
Actually in ANY season!!

ReplyDeleteHello, your weekend away sounds awesome. Your daughters are beautiful! Happy New Year to you and yours.Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you and the family are having a wonderdul time. HAPPY NEW YEAR.
ReplyDeleteNice to celebrate with the family and a photo of your daughters' selfie was great, Karen. We have been guilty of overdoing selfies quite a bit and have such fun with them as your family does as well. We will be in the NH White Mountains in early Feb and we are not skiers but snow shoeing is fun and hopefully nature will cooperate. We hope to make a side trip to Vermont too.
ReplyDeleteThey sure have beautiful smiles and look pretty in pink! LOVE the way you caught a few leaves with color in your snowy scene and the little bird is precious too! I'm sure you're getting a lot more snow with this system! Take care! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteThe perfect escape!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the holidays, which everyone should have in their lives to manage a healthy lifestyle. Beautiful photos and your girl’s expressions convey how things go off.
ReplyDeleteCheers
