So - vacations are made for sleeping in
- unless -
you happen to be running an impromptu early morning shuttle for wayward-daughter-hikers...
But then - one morning after an early morning drop-off,
I managed to come out of my sleepy stupor to notice

Hmmmm - the world looks different in the morning.
Yeah - I'm really not a morning person...
(although - I'm normally up early preparing for work - ummm, not the same thing)

So - I managed to ignore my instinct to rush towards my nearest caffeine source,
and pulled out my trust Rebel -
and watched
as the Vermont countryside
slowly awoke
to greet what turned into
a most beautiful day.
And then - I drove home and made myself a pot of coffee
- where I caffeinated myself, gazing at the mountains from my deck
and marveled at how wonderful morning can be.

ReplyDeleteI am an unabashed lover of all things morning. And you are right, everything really DOES look and feel different in the mornings. It's my favorite time of day. I am up at 5:45 every day through the week, and 7am on weekends. I hate sleeping longer because I don't like to miss out on mornings :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, such gorgeous images! Love all of them.
ReplyDeleteKaren I am such a morning person so to me this is all sheer beauty even without coffee!...:)JP

ReplyDeleteThis morning light is really wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous images! I love the old barn. There's nothing like the morning and it's light, but I rarely take advantage of it! Maybe I need to change that!
ReplyDeleteI am a morning person, I just wish I was more functioning in the morning. I love the morning light but have such a hard time getting to it on time.
ReplyDeleteWOW, gorgeous --paid to get up early on that picture-perfect day. Thanks for sharing Karen
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! It would have been a waste to stay in bed any longer.
ReplyDeletelovely beautiful photos, gorgeous country; my Dad woke at 4 am daily when I asked why he told me that the quiet and softness of a new day was too beautiful to miss, I would discover that he was right. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe morning is the best part of the day and your photos prove that.
ReplyDeleteOh, the barn! How simply gorgeous! I am a morning person...it does pay to get up and get outside early when mother earth is coming alive.
ReplyDeleteI love Vermont! And your photos sure help to remind me why. Beautiful!! Thanks for visiting my blog.

ReplyDeleteAll these images are so beautiful.....and peaceful, as are most things in early the morning. I love to get up early and really laze around before anyone else gets up........but as you said---it's just not the same when you are up early getting ready for work!!!!

ReplyDeleteI’m also not a morning person, but I enjoy waking up early once in awhile when going out for a long drive. Awesome photos from bright morning… Love the tractor :)
ReplyDeleteA perfect summer morning in Vermont! Oh, how I miss New England and those beautiful stone walls. xo Karen
ReplyDeleteWOW! Vermont mornings are truly awaken the senses!
ReplyDeleteAnd this is why I so enjoy early mornings...the peacefulness, but then I don't need to rush them and hurry off to work. Enjoyed the scenes, Karen, and seems you did as well.
ReplyDeleteLove your early morning shots and hope that you had an awesome vacation. How exciting that your daughter is doing well with her hike. I am a bit behind, and will have to do a bit of catching up on your blog.
ReplyDeleteWow, talk about gorgeous views! What part of VT is this?
ReplyDeleteOh how beautiful! There was a movie that I can't remember with Diane Keaton and the story takes place in Vermont. Since then, I've wanted to visit. Your photos are beautiful but I think you'd have to see it to believe it. Love it!
