rural graffiti

Weekdays in the city - I'm accustomed to all sorts of graffiti
But - I confess, I'm not up on the latest gang lingo -
and rarely have a clue what the message is supposed to mean.
I assume it's something uplifting like - "Our turf - keep out or you'll be shot"
I could be wrong...

Anyway - when I saw this message painted on the side of an old shed in the
tiny village of Chester, Vermont -
I thought - Finally, something I understand!
I'm thinking Facebook might be a more effective way of letting everyone know that you were
"green before green was cool" -
but I'm glad they chose this method.

  3. I don't think I've ever seen graffiti with a sun and clouds before! haha. At least they didn't write anything vulgar!

  4. Well, I agree, at least that one made sense. Although I am sure outsiders are not supposed to understand anyway. I love green, so maybe I can join their club.

  5. i don't mind graffiti when it looks good & right in that place. but when it is just plain silly, like this, such a great building & they did not improve the look or view - you wonder what was the point? why not use your efforts to make a good piece of art. make some money. that would make more sense. 7. I like graffiti when it's artful and not distructive!! I think being green has always been cool....remember Kermit!!

  8. I'm assuming they did their own graffiti! Sometimes, in the city of Denver, punks paint private garage doors with all kinds babble. Not cool! Hope you've heard from Maggie, and that she's doing great. I think of her, hiking amid glorious views!

  10. Neat shot. Some people consider graffiti art, not sure that I do.

  16. We have a lot of problems with graffiti here, and the police often make arrests and someone (the perps?) paint over the mess...only to have more weeks later. I posted one of the only barns I have seen in this area for Barn Charm once, a darling little red barn, and then about four days later, it was tagged horribly and stayed like that for months. It just made me so sad!
