buried...
in snow...
Yep - it's February in Vermont -
Which is okay with me.
Because - you know, it's kind of hard to ski and snowshoe without the snow.
The other night after a stressful and s-l-o-w drive home from work, I walked in the door asking-
"So, did you buy the winning lottery ticket today?"
Greg: "No, but I ordered a winning dinner."
Me: shrug "Yeah, okay, that's almost as good."
-because - having a husband who understands when that whole cooking dinner thing is just not happening,
is kind of like winning the lottery.
This week I've been drinking Jillian Michael's detox water.
I'm really not sure what it's for -
or why I'm drinking it - I saw it on Pinterest and thought-
Yeah, okay, why not?
I'll let you know next week when I'm feeling fabulous
Although - that's likely to have nothing to do with the water -
next week I will be on vacation :-)
and not a moment to soon -
All week I've had this song playing through my mind
"We've got to get out of this place" the Animals
Yep, it's an oldie, but I can't get it out of my head
Have a wonderful week!
Lovely shots and oh lucky you being on vacation next week. Hope that you have something wonderful planned! So nice when your husband takes care of dinner. REally enjoy you r vacation!
ReplyDeleteHappy vacation . . . snowshoeing or sunshine?
ReplyDeleteThe Hubby didn't have the winning lottery ticket either, lol. We were in it half and half with his folks.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your vacation and have a fabulous weekend, Karen.
How I long for some of that snow here in the dry California mountains. But I won't complain, spring is bringing new life to our canyon. I really enjoyed the randomness of your Random 5 post.
ReplyDeleteWe got to get outta this place yes that song I love:)
ReplyDeleteYour husband is better then a lottery win for sure. Thoughtful you cannot buy that.
Love your snow covered photos and I am going to miss the snow, it is raining.
A vacation good for you no doubt it does not involve toques and boots:)
Send Inger some snow will you you are closer to her:) Hug B
That is one of my favourite tunes. The snow photos are gorgeous, I never minded driving in it at home but if we have flurries here I stay home. How sweet of your husband to think to order in-
ReplyDeletethat truck is deep in the snow. i remember a past post where you showed him. i love a good old truck. i am giggling at you drinking the drink. are you suppose to see results or what? i always think about doing a drinking cleanse, but wonder what will it do for me ... i do have to eat in the AM ... not sure if it is low blood sugar or what. i don't have any issues that i know of ... but i get hungry. so i can not imagine working off only fluids for a week or less. no fun in my book. kind of yuck. like you know how folks say that you have to wait 7 years to get rid of bubble gum that you shallow ... i can imagine that it take that long for items/fluids to get through you. you know??! happy weekend to you!! ( :
ReplyDeletehappy vacation!!! (living in a place where you can get home delivery - without having to drive 12 miles to get take-out. wow!) :)
ReplyDeleteThis makes me want to order dinner tonight instead of cooking. I think I'll do it! Maybe pizza :)
ReplyDeleteLove the shot of the old truck buried in snow. How thoughtful of your husband to order dinner in! Relax and enjoy your vacation. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and you're so right about the whole dinner thing! Enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of snow! I hope you get to do some fun things on your vacation. I like that song--gotta get out of this place--sometimes I feel like that too. :-)

ReplyDeleteHI Karen That is a LOT of snow. that song will come true next week. Hurray! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI HATE snow, but LOVE that first shot. I did do a little cross country skiing to try to embrace it. Blah, blah, blah. What a fantastic name for a blog. Happy travels. Hope it's to someplace warm.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter turned me onto Jillian Michael's week-long quick start program last year, and I felt super healthy and good after eating all the healthy food for a week. (I still make her veggie soup recipe almost every week and heat it up for lunches.) Hope the water has you energized for a GREAT upcoming vacation!
ReplyDeleteGosh, that is a lot of snow! I tried but didn't get the winning lottery ticket either. Someone in CA is much richer now though!
ReplyDeleteHave fun on vacation!
Looking forward to your vacation photos. I hope you are going somewhere warm, with 0 snow! Have fun.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your vacation and I hope its somewhere with no snow! We're feeling a little tired of snow too. But I see more arriving right now.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy you vacation. The snow looks so beautiful (or did) ours is all brown and yucky now.
ReplyDeleteHave a good holiday. We've got to get out of here is one of those tunes that just rolls around in your head for all day. Why did you mention it?
ReplyDeleteGoody - vacation! I hope you feel fabulous - either from the water or just utter relaxation. Love the buried truck and birdhouses.
ReplyDeleteI love that song! Hope you have a fabulous time away and feel rejuvenated when you get back.
ReplyDeleteSeems the snowfall has been abundant there… lovely buried in snow. Vacations are awesome moments and hope u have a great time :)
ReplyDeleteLovely shots of the snow...it's been a harsh winter for you folks. I am in western pa and while we have had precip on almost a daily basis since mid november, sometimes it is snow and sometimes rain so we have not had the deep snow to deal with ( nothing over 6-7 inches at a time here )
ReplyDeleteoh yay, vacation!! let me know how that detox water is, i pinned it too but haven't tried it! beautiful pics and awesome to have a husband to know just when to pick up dinner!
ReplyDeleteGoing somewhere to escape the snow and cold or is it a staycation? Either way, sounds wonderful. And bless your hubby's heart for being so thoughtful. :)
ReplyDeleteOh goody, vacation, always a good thing. And let us know how fabulous you feel after the detox. I have wondered about those concoctions!!
ReplyDeleteOh my buried in snow, not so much fun. Having dinner fixed or bought so you don't have to cook...Priceless
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that vacation.
Hi Karen, First time visiting. Wow! you guys are having a long winter.. These transitional months are tough. I live in Seattle and it's gray until May and by then we are all tired of the gloom. Your husband was very considerate. We all have those days! I need to check on the detox water.. sometimes I add these things into my diet and not sure if they really help or not.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
Anytime I hear the word, "Vermont", I think of "I'm Larry...and this is my brother,Darrell, and this is my other brother, Darrell." Oh, the days of great sitcom.....Bob Newhart, where are you?
ReplyDeleteYa' gotta love a man who takes care of dinner! You sure do have a lot of snow, awesome image of the buried truck!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! Have a lovely vacation.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
Maybe the combination of the detox water and vacation will make you feel like you won the lottery :) Have a great vacation!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that vacation!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness- yes! Takeout- vacations...yes! I'm still staring at your buried truck..that's just...wow.
ReplyDeleteOH MY! LOTS of snow!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the buried truck and hopefully those houses for rent will become unthawed soon for spring arrivals. :)
Vacation??? Well, what a better time to get away. Hope it's to someplace warm.
Now I have that song in my head but I always loved it so it's ok. Have a lovely vacation!!
