five on friday

1) My week of all 50 mm is coming to an end. I was afraid this challenge would be limiting, but I'm actually liking it so far. This week I learned the importance of moving around (yep - with my feet) and choosing different angles when feeling limited by the focal length. Up on deck - 18 mm.

2) Also on tap for next week Kim Klassen's Picture Pro-cess for Elements 11 course. I'm pretty exciting to learn some of the ins and outs of this program.

3) I have a love/hate relationship with social media. I love blogging and Pinterest and - well - let's just say I'm not overly fond of Facebook. I closed my account (gasp!) a few months ago and have yet to miss it.

4) I finished my granny square blanket. Newbie effort - for sure - but I'm pretty happy with it. And now, I'm needing a new project - time for a visit to the yarn shop.

5) Ummm - there's no number 5 - so I'll just wish a happy Easter to all who celebrate it, and to everyone - a wonderful weekend!

  4. I love that snowy photo! So pretty! Your granny square blanket looks so cute. It's funny because my grandma just gave me a granny square blanket a couple days ago that her aunt had made many years ago. Mine has more of a funky 70s vibe :)

  20. The more I used my fixed focal length lenses, the more I like them. The 50mm and my 60mm macro are used a lot now. I am taking Kim's picture process too, but CS6. I have had the program since last fall and have only tapped into a small amount of its potential. Great job on the Granny Square blanket.

  25. Happy Easter to you, Karen!

I love your first picture and hope you enjoy your KK Class.

I love blogging and Face Book. I like Face Book to get blog feeds and updates. I have been pinning a few things here and there, but don't get the thrill from Pinterest that some people do. Part of my issue is I have made several viral Pinned Recipes and they were NOT very tasty. Kind of makes me leery.

  27. Hope that your Easter weekend was a good one, Karen, as was ours celebrating in RI with the grandkids. I agree with your comments about blogging and Facebook, never tried Pinterest. Working with a fixed focal length is somewhat of a challenge. Glad you enjoyed doing it with the 50mm. Just wondering how close you are to Nashua, NH as we will be there this coming week checking out places for our planned relocation.
