The fence in the quad outside my office -
It always amazes me that no matter the weather,
there are always bikes locked to the fence outside my office.
Dedicated students?
And speaking of weather - apparently we are bracing for another storm this weekend.
This time - I guess I have to go to the grocery store.
Remember how I cleaned my kitchen on Monday?
- and tossed (and tossed and tossed)?
Ooops - I'd better go join my fellow New Englanders in the mad rush for milk and bread.

ReplyDeletethe weather is suppose to hit here too. i wonder what we will get? hoping for snow, no ice please. i wonder how folks ride their bikes through such conditions. really amazes me so. are they silly or just really dedicated. no clue. ( :
ReplyDeleteCollege kids are very adaptable and if they need to get somewhere they want to go they make it work including bikes...You gotta love their determination.....

ReplyDeleteYou guys stock up and hunger down! (I know Texans are allowed to say "you guys" because my kids have gone to school with so many transplants here that are in the Army that they come home saying that and it burns my ears. lol....so, yes, we will allow Northerners to say "ya'll".) :)

ReplyDeleteMy daughter goes to school in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and there are still a few bikes out all winter long. Good luck weathering the storm :)

ReplyDeleteHope you stay safe and warm and enjoy your fresh restock of your kitchen. When we have flood alerts I try to use up and tidy, especially items in the fridge in case we need to leave and/or lose power. There's always a restocking required afterwards. Feels good to have afresh and tidy kitchen doesn't it.

More snow on the way? I was in Rye during the big storm (Nemo) that went through a couple weeks ago. I know you guys are so used to snow but I sure am glad I am back in Virginia. Although we are supposed to get ice later today. Oh well, it's winter.

Those are some brave cyclists! I guess if that's your primary mode of transportation you have to use it no matter the weather. Best of luck this weekend! We got a ton of ice yesterday and lost our power. May not be back on til the first of the week! Hope you can stay warm and dry :)

ReplyDeleteThere are not many cyclists around this area in good weather, so this would never be a scene I could take a shot OS and also there would not be much snow (sadly). Hope you enjoy the French toast after you stock up on bread, eggs and milk for the storm.

ReplyDeleteLove the bike rack shot. In snow, I guess a bike is more reliable than a car, or public transportation. They can ride around the snow piles.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about bike photos that I love. I guess to me it is kind of like a throw back to a simpler time. Good luck on the snow...wish we could take some of it for you. I love cleaning and tossing...sometimes the timing isn't great, though! ;)

ReplyDeleteYesterday while we were watching the Birkebeiner, a 30 mile cross country ski race, hubby saw bikes WITH FAT SNOW TIRES on them out on the trail with riders who were ready to assist skiers who were in trouble.
